Standard

The Game of the Amazons is played on a 10x10 chessboard. The two players are Alice and Bob; each player has four Zumons, which start on the board in a fixed configuration.

Alice moves first followed by Bob, and the players alternate moves thereafter. Each move consists of two parts. First, Alice moves one of her Zumons one or more empty squares in a straight line (orthogonally or diagonally), exactly as a queen moves in chess; it may not cross or enter a tile occupied by a Zumon of either player. Second, after moving, the Zumon shoots a nade from its landing tile to another tile, using another queenlike move. This nade may travel in any orthogonal or diagonal direction (even backwards along the same path the Zumon just traveled, into or across the starting tile if desired). A nade, like a Zumon, cannot cross or enter a tile which has been destroyed or where a Zumon of either player stands. The tile where the nade lands is destroyed to show that it can no longer be used. The last player to be able to make a move wins. Draws are impossible.

The game takes place in a timed environment and the player who runs out of time first loses by default.

Shatter

This game mode is similar in the mechanics as the original one however the board is generated symmetrically using a randomised algorithm with some tiles shattered before the start of the game. The starting positions remain the same and the players have to quickly figure out strats to come out on top.
